
Peter L. Berk joined Forrest L. Ingram, P.C. as an independent contractor in August 2006, bringing with him experience in providing business services and a practical knowledge of the new bankruptcy law that became effective October 17, 2005.
As an associate in the firm of Morgan & Bley, Ltd., Peter represented small to medium-sized businesses in commercial bankruptcy and litigation, served as counsel both to debtors and to creditors’ committees in chapter 11 reorganizations, and represented a chapter 7 trustee in avoidance and recovery actions.He also assisted that firm’s partners in litigating high-profile civil rights and defamation cases and defended clients in zoning and building code litigation.
Peter expanded his experience when he worked as an associate in the firm of Evans, Lowenstein, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, Ltd. He managed litigation files from intake to trial, drafted and negotiated contracts and leases for small businesses, handled real estate closings, and represented debtors and creditors in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy cases.
His association with Forrest L. Ingram, P.C. enhances the Firm’s ability to serve the various needs of business clients, including reorganization, and the needs of consumers to obtain a fresh start through the discharge of debt in chapter 7 or chapter 13.
